In the Symposium on scientific, technological and academic cooperation, Dr. Gholami, Iran’s Minister of Science, Research and Technology, pointed out that Iran’s government has always placed special emphasis on the development of international relations in the fields of science and academia. He said: “The importance of scientific diplomacy is significant and this issue will always have a special and important impact. Due to the importance of the issue, the Ministry of Science has seriously pursued international cooperation and has had good achievements in this field.” He also stated that so far many of our activities have traditionally been oriented towards European universities: “In recent years, we have had a different view in the field of science, research and technology to neighboring countries, especially Islamic countries, Russia, and China.”
Highlighting Tehran-Beijing scientific cooperation, he added: “Chinese economic, industrial and technological potential reaffirms the necessity of a strong scientific and technological cooperation with Iran.”
Dr. Gholami also expressed his hope that: “a steady flow of visits of researchers and professors to China will provide opportunities to better understand these capacities.”
He also emphasized: “The universities and scientific centers of the MSRT were pioneers in developing scientific and research cooperation with China. They have formed a 25-year partnership before drafting the memorandum. In this regard, we will not have a fanatical view of any part of the political geography of the world and our only goal is to reach major achievements of science and technology, to strengthen the country’s scientific complex and to develop scientific interactions and diplomacy.”
At the end, he referred to the successful reports presented by the important universities’presidents .
